Don joined the MRSB consulting team in August, 2009 as a Senior Consultant and he provides clients with business advisory services including the development of business plans, financing proposals, feasibility studies, and assists small and medium size businesses with their operational , marketing and financial planning requirements. He will also be working on industry specific research and analysis projects and providing consulting and strategic planning advice to government departments and associations. Don has worked on numerous studies relating to economic impact analysis for various industry sectors, associations, educational institutions, and special interest groups.
He has provided counseling to entrepreneurs in the retail, service and manufacturing sectors in Alberta and he has helped numerous businesses obtain bank financing and successfully apply for government programs and services that can enhance their business growth.
Don has a Masters in Business Administration- Technology Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration and he is a Certified Program Planner.
He has extensive experience in community economic development and industrial development during his eight year tenure with Alberta Economic Development and Trade.
Don has wide-ranging skills in project management and facilitation, and he has instructed hundreds of small business owners in marketing, operations and in business start-up related workshops throughout Alberta and as an instructor at SAIT and for KTG Enterprises in Calgary over a 10 year period.
Don was on the Board of Directors for the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and the Board of Directors of the V.R.R.I. (Vocational Rehabilitation Research Institute) in Calgary. He has worked closely with the Conference Board of Canada, the Retail Council of Canada, Western Economic Diversification, BDC and numerous local Economic Development Authorities.
